Provides nursing leadership for as the immediate supervisor for all nursing staff members within the assigned
function. Assists in patient care and educational programs specific to the unit.
Acts as the liaison between the nursing departments and all of the ancillary departments to promote
continuity of care, optimal patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, cost efficiency and compliance
Minimum Education
Education level required by the State of Tennessee in order for an applicant to qualify for License or
Certification within the State of Tennessee.
BSN Preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be
able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
Licenses:
Current licensure by the State of Tennessee or a compact agreement state as a Registered Nurse.
