Georgia-Pacific Consumer Operations is seeking qualified professionals to be considered for our Learning and Development Leader role to support the energetic team at our new Dixie Products Operations Plant located in Jackson, TN. The Dixie Jackson facility uses state of the art technology to manufacture Dixie plates and bowls in a progressive production environment. Dixie is a brand of choice and is widely used in homes and businesses across the country. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Georgia-Pacific's newest Dixie facility.

If you have a passion around building capability in others, Georgia-Pacific's Dixie-Jackson Manufacturing facility is looking for a Learning and Development Leader to help advance our team's capabilities. This will be a key role supporting the Jackson facility and overall Georgia-Pacific Continuous Manufacturing Group's (CMG) Learning and Development effort. The Learning & Development Leader is responsible for partnering with our Operating teams to develop, implement and deliver learning and development processes throughout the Dixie Jackson facility.

What You Will Do

  • Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture
  • Partner with department leaders, performance coaches, and employees across the facility to improve and optimize training processes, foster a culture that encourages and enables everyone to contribute to each other's success, and builds organizational capabilities
  • Work with the Continuous Manufacturing Group Learning & Development Team to build a unified qualification process
  • Be the site administrator for all electronic learning records and overseeing the overall health of self-paced / computer-based learning processes
  • Ensure online learning materials are appropriately standardized, when applicable, to promote cross-facility sharing of resources in a timely manner
  • Support facility leaders in tracking KPIs, identifying learning opportunities, and managing change.
  • Utilize learning to accelerate and assist technician's development of knowledge and skill through ongoing verification
  • Partner directly with Continuous Manufacturing Group IT research and technology as well as Operations Shift Leaders, Performance Capability Leaders, Skill Developers and Skill Builders at facilities to implement emerging technologies throughout our workforce for the purpose of accelerating learning and development
  • Collaborate routinely with the Manufacturing Transformation Leaders to ensure Learning and Development initiatives support manufacturing initiatives appropriately
  • Active participant in new hire onboarding process


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in a role with at least partial responsibility for training or developing others
  • Experience working at or in support of a manufacturing or processing facility
  • Experience with building operational learning and development programs that support safe working practices, skill building, and operational efficiency
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with ability to lead peers, and other coworkers up and down the organization


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in applied Learning and Development or relevant field
  • Experience overseeing a production operation or operating equipment used in the production, converting, and finishing of paper goods and associated products
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Experience with change management/transformation initiatives
  • Experience with the creation of, and understanding the usage of standard operating procedures that will be used and referenced in the learning system
  • Experience with administering or managing a Learning Management System
