Job Description
Title: Registrar - Admitting/Registration Location: Maury Regional Medical Center Position Shift: PRN As Needed Position Summary: Create a positive impression for each patient, family member, visitor or staff while performing the tasks of registering, routing or escorting patients, family or visitors. Register patients to receive medical services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Obtain demographic information, validate insurance, and collect payments. Answer and/or refer questions received from patients, visitors, and staff. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: * Verify/Obtain correct PCP/Admitting/Attending on every patient to provide continuity of care. Obtain and enter accurate accident information 100%. * Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. Within scope of job requirements must possess critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must work collaboratively in a coordinated effort to achieve the common goal as a team. * Accepts work assignments willingly, with positive attitude and learns new job assignments in a reasonable period of time. Strong work ethic and energy. Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with both internal and external clients that lead to more effective communication and a higher level of productivity and accuracy. * File all Medicare Replacement Plans accurately to meet National Standard. * Correct errors on RQA within 72 hours. * Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with both internal and external clients that lead to more effective communication and a higher level of productivity and accuracy. * Accurately completes MSP on all Medicare patients * Delivering & obtaining correct forms, including Financial Agreement, IMM, MOON, SADs, AFRs. * Properly receipt patient payments and maintain cash drawer. Financially resolve patient account by providing financial discussion to include Prompt Pay Discount, partial payment, payment plans, Financial Counseling referral. * Meets department goal of 95% First Pass Accuracy for ED and 97% First Pass Accuracy for outpatient/admissions & 99% Final Pass Accuracy while obtaining appropriate and accurate information. Review and correct all errors at the time of registration and prior to 3 day bill drop. Credentials / Education: Required: High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred: Solid understanding of healthcare terminology Preferred: 2 yrs. Related patient financial experience Preferred: Strong communication skills.
