How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Under the leadership and oversight of the HR Director/Business Partner, the HR Manager is responsible for providing support to the regional leadership team and workforce by providing Human Resource guidance and leadership in partnership with the established conjunction with the Center of Excellence related to Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Employee Relations and Compliance, Labor Relations, Learning and Development, Payroll, and HR Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with regional business leaders and associates to build a safe, inclusive, positive and productive work environment.
  • Responsible for driving adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and verify the company's employment standards and practices in an effort to continuously improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support current and future business needs through development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
  • Respond with a sense of urgency to associate concerns and complaints, investigate when appropriate (at times in collaboration with COEs) and recommend suitable courses of action.
  • Assist leaders with corrective action and performance management plans.
  • Review and monitor practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Advise leaders on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, and recommend needed course corrections and changes.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism related to confidentiality of associates and/or company information.
  • Review compensation information of associates; may analyze history and make recommendations to the HR Director and Business Leaders for approval.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition regarding comprehensive workforce labor plans, establishing job skills, fit and competencies, assist in the identification of best sourcing strategies and techniques for each job category and function. Participate in interviews and various recruiting activities such as career fairs, community, school, vocational and military events.
  • Support successful onboarding activities to ensure the best possible new hire experience and ensure new hire training and touch base activities are completed as required.
  • Partner closely with Plant and Branch leadership to conduct, counsel and coordinate resources related to various compliance initiatives at each location.
  • Partner with third-party administrator to ensure unemployment claims are processed timely. Attends unemployment hearings as needed.
  • Conduct regular audits to endure the integrity of HR data
  • Contribute actively to the support and implementation of the overall HR strategy
  • Act as change agent in identifying opportunities to improve workforce effectiveness to enable improved business strategy enabling the successful attainment of goals and objectives.
  • In conjunction with the HR team, conduct assessments, develop and deliver training to designated groups as needed.
  • Lead associate engagement initiatives including but not limited to annual associate survey, engagement committees and action planning.
  • Actively participate in retention activities.

Required Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or Finance
  • Organized Labor experience is preferred.
  • An HR related certification (PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
Required Length & Type of Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of related HR experience preferably within a production and/or distribution environment.
