Toolmaker's are responsible for disassembly, assessment and assembly of Blow and Injection Molding tooling.

Essential Functions

  • Safely operate any machinery, tools or equipment used.
  • Diagnose tooling issues/complications
  • Communicate all problems found to senior staff
  • Participate in tooling repairs as needed by senior staff
  • Keep work areas neat and clean to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Read blueprints & schematics
  • Use hand held tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, socket sets, etc.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Polish parts as required
  • Take the lead on individual tool projects and preventative maintenance projects

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and use of PPE (ear plugs) is required.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be regularly required to:

  • Remain stationary for extended periods of time
  • Move around Tool Room
  • Communicate with Tool Room Management and team
  • Position self to ground level as needed to adjust machinery, or other lower level tasks
  • Move, adjust, and position anywhere from 10 to 85 lbs
  • Manipulate small parts, tools, levers, and other small, hand-eye coordinated tasks.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2+ years' experience in Tool & Die or related field
  • Technical Certificate from Trade School
  • 5+ years' experience in related field
