Job Description:

The Crisis Counselor is responsible for providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, crisis intervention an appropriate service linkage for those individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis related to the tornado in multiple counties. This position is remote, but must be able to provide services in the counties of Cheatham, Dickson, Davidson, Montgomery and Stewart counties. This is a grant for 9 months.

$20/hr

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Crisis Counselor is responsible for providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, crisis intervention an appropriate service linkage for those individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis related to the tornado in multiple counties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates high level of clinical knowledge and skill in providing telephonic, e-mail, risk assessments, and crisis intervention to callers. I
  • mplements follow-up efforts as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively and efficiently obtain all information (i.e. demographics and clinical information) for accurate documentation in the electronic database.
  • Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditations.
  • Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
  • Promotes a departmental culture of cooperation and collaboration with other cross-functional departments, community agencies, hospitals, mental health consumers, and the public at large.
  • Attends team meetings, in-service training, supervision, and other quality assurance training.
  • Assists in administrative tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Incentives:

Remote position, but must be available to travel to the impacted areas

Flexible schedule. Must live within driving distance of Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Montgomery or Stewart Counties in Tennessee.

Qualifications:

Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. High School diploma required.

0-1 year experience

Entry Pay Range:

$15.11--$18.84
