Job Description

As the R&D Project Manager- you will become one of the key persons in organizing the product development and factory introduction of new Transformer Components in HUB North America. In this role you will work directly with cross-functional team members to ensure that our solutions are delivered and executed in alignment with the overall delivery project priorities.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will hold the overall responsibilities for the management of industrialization and implementation of the assigned engineering project into the factory within the Transformer Components & Service group.

  • Ensure the project follows execution best practices and Hitachi Energy policies (Product Development - Gate Model)

  • Acts as key contact for the project. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Continually balance the needs of Product Management, R&D Team, Local Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations within our HUB and local factory.

  • Define, monitor, and control all project plan deliverables including scope, financial plans, and schedule.

  • Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure all hurdles for implementation are identified and resolved.

  • Uses own technical domain knowledge to provide technical support to colleagues or other functional teams.

  • Ensure the receiving factory is prepared to quote, engineer, manufacture, and warranty the new product being introduced.

  • Ensure change management is conducted according to PMI principles.

Your Background

  • BS degree in Engineering or related technical field (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) and 5 or more years of experience.

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • 3+ years as a project manager (PMP preferred).

  • 5+ years of combined Engineering and Project Management experience

  • Excellent ability to resolve issues, lead teams and work constructively with cross functional stakeholders.

  • Transformer components experience is preferred (Tap Changers, Bushings, Measurement & Safety Devices).

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
