Lead Java Developer with Kafka

• Ability to lead a team and closely work with business and supporting teams to deliver solutions that meet the requirements and expectations of the clients.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Must be adept in computer languages and have strong technical aptitude.
• Have a proven knowledge with common design patterns should seek out opportunities to implement design patterns.
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, performance, security, and scalability.
• Fix and resolve issues in existing or new code.
• Deploy and lead applications in AWS/OpenShift.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in the industry.

• 12+ years of experience in Java development, using Spring Boot framework.
• Excellent hands-on experience with Kafka, knowledge on - distributed streaming platform - should provide solutions to craft, build, optimize and scale is a must.
• Experience with building highly scalable, high performing resilient Kafka streaming application capable of handling huge volume of data. (Preferably in millions) is required.
• Experience in monitoring data pipelines built using Kafka, Java, and Spring Boot via monitoring tools.
• Experience in building REST APIs using Spring Boot.
• Experience with Spring Boot, JPA, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud.
• Experience working with SQL like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience working in no-SQL like MongoDB.
• Experience with cloud technologies like AWS/OpenShift.
• Good exposure to containerization with docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge on of OpenShift/PCF.
• Experience with RESTful web services, JSON, and XML
• Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins- build, and continuous integration.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and code coverage tools.

The annual salary for this position is between $ 52,000 - 136,200 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
