POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for two key facets of the Materials/Logistics function including the procurement and production planning/scheduling activities at the Bristol manufacturing facility. This position will establish raw material requirements utilizing supplied forecast and generate purchase orders through SAP for all raw material/component inventory material requirements for the Bristol site. These procurement activities must maintain adequate levels of inventory materials to support the required level of production activity while providing for adequate lead times and safety stock levels.
This position will establish and maintain production schedules to support plastics processing, processing, and packaging operations. Responsible for effective communication and coordination of daily production activities via daily communication with all key site stakeholders to optimize production efficiency and schedule adherence. Ensure internal/external customer satisfaction and maintain inventory adherence to targets and materials availability while achieving cycle time reductions.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRODUCTION PLANNING

  • Establishes production schedules, ensuring that all schedules are structured to maintain customer satisfaction while controlling finished goodd inventories to meet established inventory targets and achieving reductions in cycle times
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate of daily production activities with key Production, QA, and other site stakeholders to optimize production efficiency and schedule adherence.
  • Monitor sales activities and forecasts to determine adjustments to planning activities
  • Act as liaison between Packaging, Processing, Receiving and Quality Assurance to ensure prompt release of product and/or materials to assure a smooth material flow.
  • Determine finished package prioritization for site with regards to finished goods inventory needs - expediting critical items so they are processed and shipped in a timely manner
  • Responsible to maintain accurate manufacturing/packaging records and schedules
  • Monitor finished good inventory at distibution center for short dating sku's.
  • Provide Material Needs report to Quality Control detailing what materials are required for production and when they are needed.
  • Conduct weekly Production Scheduling Adherence meeting.

PROCUREMENT

  • Be knowledgeable of site raw material, packaging components and finished products and have the ability to make recommendations to meet changing forecasts and sales requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to use SAP MRP to analyze need for raw materials and packaging materials
  • Responsible for SAP Purchase Order creation and transmittal to suppliers.
  • Ensure inventory materials are received on time, in the quantity and at the acknowledged price
  • Provide Corporate Auditing supplier information as requested.
  • Per
  • Build and develope effective relationships with suppliers- serve as primary site contact for material suppliers.
  • Complete Material Disposition Forms for discrepant/expired materials
  • Raise change controls needed as a result of supplier change notifications.
  • Work with Compliance Manager and Regulatory to implement artwork changes as required.
  • Work with Finance and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies as needed
  • Performs SAP data maintenance for Procurement Data Objects.

GENERAL

  • Ability to develop improvement opportunities in procurement, planning and scheduling operations to continuously provide better and more efficient ways of working.

  • Ensure activities are carried out in line with cGMP regulations.
  • Ensures Materials Department procedures are accurate and up to date.
  • Compile Monthly Reports.
  • Complete all required training (GMP,SOP Review, Safety, COBE, etc.).
  • Serve as Auditor for site Level II audits as needed.
  • Serve as Material representative on site Quality Review Board.
  • Other duties as needed or required.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five years pharmaceutical or related industry procurement experience.
  • High degree of SAP Procurement/Production Planning functionality and expertise at an excecution level
  • Ability to plan and execute effective negotiations with supply base.
  • Demonstrated depth of understanding of procurement systems.
  • Ability to analyze material requirements using SAP, backorder reports, and sales forecast
  • Ability to establish production planning and procurement activities.
  • Experience in understanding and working within negotiation purchase contracts.
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Developed competence in company standard software programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, SAP).
  • Ability to be a strong team player while working independently when necessary, a self-starter
  • Ability to lead work teams and effectively manage meetings and agendas
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions and maintain flexibility while under pressure to address changing production requirements while maintaining professionalism.
