Responsibilities

Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) is seeking a Clinical Case Manager to join our growing team! Come make a difference in the life of a child and love what you do!!

Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients.

The Clinical Case Manager serves as an integral member of the clinical team, providing direct services and supportive functions to the patients at Mountain Youth Academy. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, facilitating groups, representing MYA at team meetings and court hearings, reviewing documentation for accuracy and timeliness and discharge planning.

Must be familiar with and understand all payor source regulations as they relate to Psychiatric Residential Services; regulation promulgated by CMS as they relate to patient care, treatment and services. Performs weekly audits for charts concurrently to ensure that the medical records documentation meet the requirements of the regulatory of all regulatory bodies.

Documentation Skills, Analyzing Information, Decision Making, Research Skills, Verbal Communication, Written Communication, People Skills, Resolving Conflict, People Management, Integrity, Connecting with Children, and proficiency in Microsoft office. Is able to develop professional relationships with DCS workers as well as court representatives. Is able to recognize when a student is becoming upset during visitation or court.

  • Exhibits ethical and professional behavior in all actions on behalf of Mountain Youth Academy.
  • Employee will follow safety guidelines and work safely.

Qualifications

Must have a bachelor's degree and significant knowledge of third-party payor systems. Previous experience in medical records and coding or billing preferred. Must be a self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals, both verbally and in writing. Exceptional attention to detail needed.
