The Plant Controller will be a Proactive Business Partner to the Plant Leaders to oversee the control environment in the plant, own the month end close, explain results, make process improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.

* Lead and work along with the extended accounting team to support effective and efficient delivery of accounting processes, controls and adherence to compliance
* Establish and maintain accurate monthly closing of assigned plant(s) financials, per the closing cycle.
* Participate in all facets of the month-end closing process, annual planning and forecasting including the creation of journal entries and preparation of variance analysis with commentary to explain monthly results that can be understood by plant and senior operations management.
* Partner with the operations team on plants monthly/quarterly inventory counts, and off-site warehouse visits as required for completeness and accuracy of reported inventory.
* Serves as an independent judge of business results and proactively works with the plant and management to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Keep management informed of inventory trends, and cycle count adherence.
* Coordinate and prepare audit requirements to reconcile inventory and provides analysis ensuring it is recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
* Responsible for the compliance and execution of the company's accounting procedures and controls and completeness of balance sheet account reconciliations.
* Understand inventory composition and monthly results, customer base and its relationship with monthly sales, and working climate to provide effective direction and assistance in resolving month-end or daily issues with current and future action plans.
* Provides management with timely, accurate, and relevant financial reporting that is meaningful to running the business.
* Work with Corporate and local plant resources to support ongoing process and reporting improvements for JD Edwards, ERP.
* Partner with Corporate and local plant resources to support inventory cost standards updates and related impact to product pricing
* Use sound judgement and economic thinking to challenge the status quo and use the best knowledge in the company to create long term value.

Required:
* Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related area.
* Minimum of at least 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and US GAAP Cost Accounting.
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools
* ERP systems experience in financial and manufacturing modules
* Strong analytical skills, courageous to engage in challenge processes to hold self and other accountable for meeting commitments and deadlines.
* Ability to use sound judgement, critical thinking, and deliver superior results in effective and efficient decision making.
* Strong customer focus with analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills
* Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail, and hands on.
* Flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
* Proven initiative and willingness to drive change, with a focus on innovation, process improvement and solving problems
* Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal and organization skills.
* Ability to work in an office setting within a manufacturing facility 4 days per week, and ability to travel as needed ~10%.
Preferred:
* Certification such as CPA or CMA
* Prior Public and industry accounting experience
* JD Edwards experience
