Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma concepts, safety, and environmental practices to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Maintain and audit productivity data to assure accurate efficiency and utilization of manpower per labor standards. Conduct new product review and feedback for improvements in manufacturability during the initial phases of design through implementation. Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs. Develop equipment, materials, and process performance requirements. Identify and implement management systems to eliminate variation within operations (material flow, fabrication, finishing and assembly). Use Engineering tool like Value Stream Mapping to Identify current state bottlenecks and implement future state by conducting Kaizen event. Perform vendor searches and equipment evaluation to ensure adequate capability to produce quality product in required quantities at an effective cost. Attend process review and safety/ergonomic buyoff meetings for new model processes and support budget development as applicable. Use Lean manufacturing Tools like Simulation to analyze the maximum capacity and bottlenecks in the process. Calculate Standard hours and Complete Time studies & Line balancing to achieve maximum Labor Efficiency. Calculate and Load Routings into system for various make parts to help cross functional team track operating cost. Design workstations, standardized work instructions, and manning requirements to maximize efficiency. Initiate design changes for cost effectiveness and complete value add/nonvalue added analysis. Promote lean manufacturing operations with 5S, Poke Yoke, Kaizen, Kanban, wastes concepts, TPM, SMED and other initiatives, to continuously improve upon our own records. Conduct Kaizen events on the factory floor. Analyze new processes and equipment with the intent of achieving continuous improvement of present methods. Develop Process Mapping to optimize flow and efficiency on production floor. Develop process documentation and trains personnel on new processes, materials, and equipment. Identify and comply with all health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures. Develop process to Improve FS Cookers and Ovens throughput and efficiency. Build, implement, and maintain PFEP (Plan For Every Part) for product assembly lines. Implement Pull Signals, Kanbans and identify opportunities with operations for improved line-side presentation and material flow/replenishment. Implement problem solving tools to identify and solve Root cause. Work directly with operations and other engineers in a team environment for problem solving, buy-in and support of new processes. Generates capital investment request (IR's) required for new process implementation and controls expenditures to ensure compliance with timing and budget requirements. Design layouts, zoning and planning for efficient shopping and delivering processes in warehouse operations.
