The Director of Marketing, US Advanced Wound Care Products, is responsible for overseeing the commercial development and activation of messages and tactics for the $150M US family of Wound Care foam dressings, pressure injury solutions, and skin care products including brands ALLEVYN, LEAF, and SECURA. This portfolio plays a critical growth role for one our key global franchises priorities, as well as helping form the long-term strategies for how customers can address pressure injuries, a critical challenge in hospitals and post-acute facilities today.

These brands are premium performance offerings to customers in acute care Hospitals, Wound Care Centers, Long Term, and Home Care channels. This role will be responsible for launching major growth initiatives each year with our field sales force, Channel Management, Key Accounts, Clinical Support Specialists, Medical Education.

What will you be doing?

Develop, own, and implement an integrated marketing plan designed to drive demand, engage the field sales force, improve messaging, and increase utilization of Smith & Nephew products.This includes:

  • Partner with other commercial and cross-functional teams to develop overarching brand strategy and the Annual Marketing Plans for products under his/her responsibility and the broader market opportunities.
  • Own annual and monthly business forecasting and product level demand planning, with the primary objective of ensuring forecast accuracy and product production schedules meet anticipated demand levels.
  • Work withSales Training and Field Sales leaders todevelop and execute short and long-term sales initiatives.
  • Partner with Strategic Accounts team to develop regional and national contracting targets, strategies and tactics.
  • Drive strategic product planning, product & clinical innovation pipeline and launch plans, and brand lifecycle management with Global Upstream marketing, supply and cross-functional partners.
  • Build key opinion leader support for efforts in market development, evidence generation, and peer education.
  • Provide business input on Reimbursement strategy for both commercial and government payor programs.
  • Lead development and approval of promotional materials and claims through the Promotional Review Committee.
  • Participate in customer field rides and programs to evaluate and understand market and customer needs.
  • Develop important brand KPI's, analyze data and refine brand insights with Market Research and Sales Analytics.
  • Manage assigned A&P (Advertising & Promotion) and T&E (Travel & Entertainment) expenses within budget.
  • Remain compliant with internal SOPs including customer compliance, promotional review, and expense reporting.
  • Create and execute development plans for direct reports

Education

  • BA/BS Required, MBA is preferred
  • Marketing focus is preferred

What will you need to be successful?

  • 10-15 years of combined Upstream and/or Downstream Marketing experience
  • 5-10 years of medical device or hospital contracted product management experience
  • Experience with healthcare market development, including key opinion leader engagement and clinical education
  • Digital media, marketing analytics, and brand planning experience preferred
  • Team leadership experience, with direct management and development of a commercial team
  • Strong influence management and strategic leadership skills, with the ability to positively impact others
  • Energy and passion to deliver business commitments, with a track record of execution and results
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present concepts and recommendations in executive audiences
  • Customer focused, with the ability to develop insights into customer needs and differentiated business values
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple, conflicting tasks
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, ability to translate analytics into commercial insights and actions
  • Experience leading and building teams Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
