OVERVIEW: THE CAMPBELL CLINIC FOUNDATION

The mission of The Campbell Clinic Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for our patients through the science of orthopaedic medicine, with a strong commitment to education, research, and community healthcare. Campbell Clinic is a national leader in sports medicine, pediatric orthopaedics, joint replacement, orthopaedic oncology, orthopaedic trauma, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and surgery of the hand, hip, foot, knee, shoulder and spine. The position will be based in Germantown, TN.

DIMENSIONS/SCOPE OF POSITION: The Campbell Clinic Foundation exists to move lives: The lives of the people we train, treat, and serve. For over 75 years, we have excelled in surgeon education, orthopaedic research, and community outreach. We are eager to strengthen our team with a proven fundraising leader to increase annual giving, deepen alumni engagement, and strengthen industry investment. In partnership with the Foundation Executive Director and Gift Officer, the Development Officer develops and implements programs and fosters relationships for donor recruitment and retention. The development officer will support the Foundation's growth by cultivating and stewarding gifts, securing event and program sponsorships; facilitating events; preparing grants; and securing individual gifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enhances and grows annual leadership gift program which includes personalized cultivation and solicitation of donations among Campbell residency and fellowship alumni, patients, community members, and industry partners.
  • Develop and implement thoughtful and creative strategies to diversify individual donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, acknowledgment, recognition, and retention.
  • Secures gifts and sponsorships through cultivation and solicitation of event-related sponsorships, corporate grants, and in-kind support.
  • Identifies strategy to yield measurable outcomes from all events and meetings, e.g. Visiting Professorship programs, community outreach, tours, etc. e.g. donations, in-kind, strategic partnership, leadership volunteers, and earned media.
  • Maintain and analyze records of institutional donor interactions and relationships.
  • Co-leads Development Committee.
  • Facilitates direct mail and digital fundraising campaigns, appeal letters, and other communication materials to cultivate donors and renew and upgrade current donors; accompanies and assists volunteers with solicitations of assigned prospects that include annual giving and event support. will assist as appropriate with major and planned gift prospects.
  • Identifies and prepares grants to solicit corporation and foundation sponsorships and program funding.
  • Leverage the Campbell Foundation Board of Trustees, advisory bodies, including the development committee and alumni board, and volunteers in identifying and cultivating donor prospects.
  • Facilitates Momentum Society marketing, fundraising, and volunteer engagement among Campbell Clinic employees. Drives employee engagement in awareness, fundraising & patient outreach.
  • Supports planning, design, and fundraising for Coordinates Campbell Clinic Foundation special events, including Campbell Celebrates, Campbell Club Triennial, and Alvin J. Ingram Memorial Lecture
  • Compiles and utilizes donor, financial, and statistical data and other reports as assigned or requested.
  • Plans and prepares donor recognition for websites, digital marketing, and collateral to acknowledge donors.
  • Partner with Foundation and Clinic team members in special projects aimed to drive investment in and awareness of the Foundation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists PT Manager with oversight of the PT Technician staff.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree Preferred.

Five years minimum successful experience in fundraising, alumni relations, sales, development office administration, and/ or comparable relationship-building experience required.

Language Skills Able to communicate effectively in the English language.

Mathematical Skills Basic arithmetic skills are required.

Reasoning Ability Identifies and resolves problems promptly.

Computer Skills Strong computer skills are required in MS Office applications, donor software/ database applications, and programs used to create and make presentations and communication materials.
