Overview

APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full-Time Regular (FTR)

LOCATION: Oak Ridge, TN or Hybrid

SALARY RANGE: $22.37 to $31.12 an hour

PURPOSE:

Provide communications and marketing products and services, specifically in the areas of public and employee communications, public and media relations, marketing communications and advertising, corporate identity and brand management, web, video, and online content development, social media engagement, and events.

Responsibilities
    Implements interactive marketing, communications, and video projects to support marketing and business development opportunities.
  • Creates and disseminates information using appropriate social media and social advertising to drive business strategy for services, products, and campaigns.
  • Develops communications and marketing materials by writing and editing press releases, media materials, speeches, scripts, articles, web features and business presentations and reports.
  • Organizes company-sponsored events, webinars, exhibits and other symposia.
  • Organizes and contributes to employee communications initiatives, channels, and campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, scientific, technical, education, public relations, marketing, English or related field and 0-2 years of job-related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience requiring similar knowledge, skills, abilities, and performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements.

  • Must have experience in marketing and communications best practices and modern techniques.
  • Experience with effective writing, editing, and content development for a wide range of channels from web to video to social to print is a fundamental requirement of the position.
  • Must demonstrate experience in delivering effective campaigns, whether digital marketing, advertising, or social media.
  • Experience in managing projects, events, and videos is highly desired.
  • Experience in marketing to the government and experience working in a marketing or advertising agency a plus.
  • Practical skills and abilities in delivering effective and engaging digital marketing, advertising, and social media campaigns is desired.
  • Critical thinking skills, as well as creativity and problem-solving, are highly valued.
  • Individuals who are trustworthy, productive, and efficient, deadline conscious, and who possess a positive attitude, natural affinity for teamwork, and strong work ethic are highly desired.

*The candidate's starting salary will be determined upon hire and ORAU will use salary survey data, internal comparators, and the candidate's qualifications to determine salary.
