In a supervisory capacity plan, develop, coordinate, and direct a number of large and important projects or a project of major scope and importance.
• Work with all departments within the company to develop client relationships that lead to sustainable profitable revenue.
• Develop plans and specifications for all aspects of highway design including, but not limited to, alignments, right-of-way, drainage, E&S, traffic control, and utility coordination.
• A minimum 5 years of experience with TDOT, the PTC, or private clients preparing HOP plans in TN preferred.
• Assist with 3D design using InRoads modeling while transitioning to OpenRoads Designer.
• Train and mentor junior level staff.
• Position can be hybrid, however attendance at field meetings may be required.
• Some overnight travel required as well as travel to other KCI and client offices as needed.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Appropriate graduate level work.
• 6 - 10 years of professional experience. PE Required.
• The target candidate will have experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring projects.
• Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

• Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff
• Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
• Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
• Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
• Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
• Complete other duties as required/assigned
• Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)
• Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks
• Chart and provide task performance results
• Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
• Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
• Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
• Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required
• Provide technical project and staff oversight
• Serve as task manager on select projects
• Compare field data to base plan
• Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approval
• Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval
• Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job
• Review and approve shop drawings
• Complete Annual Individual Training Program
