The Therapeutic Apheresis Quality Coordinator works to improve patient care, promote safety, and reduce errors. Identifies, develops, and implements initiatives to enhance performance and productivity. Implements changes to continually improve outcomes. Collect data and evaluate the effectiveness and safety of treatment while the patient is in the care of the apheresis department. Communicate effectively in collaboration with other departments, patient/family, external agencies, and community members. Ensure quality improvements and quality standards are met in accordance with city, state, and federal regulations.Coordinates and analyzes nursing and other pediatric hematology/oncology patient care services, including quality improvement/management, patient and staff satisfaction, and maintenance of national standards of care. Provides guidance for all aspects of quality patient care within the St. Jude Affiliate Clinics.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Associate's degree in nursing or healthcare related field is required. BSN is preferred.
  • Apheresis experience preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Three (3) years of clinical experience required which includes familiarity with standards of care, medical record documentation, and terminology. Familiarity with pediatric hematology/oncology national standards of care required.
  • Experience with quality improvement, risk and/or safety management preferred.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:

  • Either RHIA or RN is required:
  • (LC: RHIA) or (LC: RN-TN, RN-MISS, RN-ARK or RN-KY) Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
  • OR
  • Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state OR Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Therapeutic Apheresis Coordinator.
