RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Performs market research/sourcing for program requirements to include small businesses (supplier diversity) and prepares market analysis of competitor products, pricing, promotions, packaging, trends, loyalty programs, and marketing initiatives.
  • Acts as the competition advocate for the program, ensuring best value solutions to the customer.
  • Prepares request for quotations, reviews supplier bids for responsiveness to the requirements, and performs written price analysis providing the narrative justifying the recommended award.
  • Negotiates with the suppliers and issues purchase orders that will meet the program delivery schedules.
  • Tracks suppliers to ensure they are on track for committed delivery times and expedites those orders as required.
  • All marketing, solicitations, price analysis and purchase order awards must be in accordance with company procurement policies and procedures, program requirements and FAR/DFARs, Public Law, and statutory requirements.
  • Ensures timely payment of the suppliers working closely with accounts payable and processes required closeout of the procurement file in accordance with the company's closeout and record retention policies.
  • Maintain high ethical and professional standards always as a key representative of the company to outside suppliers.
  • Support pre-award surveys and supplier evaluations. Assist in various internal and external audits, including but not limited to DCMA, CPSR, and small business program reviews.
  • Resolve vendor/contractor grievances, and claims.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

  • 2+ years in a government contracting purchasing in a prime USG cost reimbursable environment desirable
    • Less experience with a Master's Degree will be considered.
  • Understanding of sourcing principals, both domestic and internationally
  • Good written and verbal communications skills with an ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders internal and external to valiant to provide status on purchasing actions.
  • Ability to engage and work cooperatively with program operations, contracts, accounts payable, logistics, IT, business development, pricing, and others.
  • Can-do, self-motivated, collaborative, and professional demeanor, good project and time management skills required.
  • Attention to detail and great organizational and time management skills with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Deltek, CostPoint, procurement execution experience highly desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (outlook, word, excel, SharePoint)
  • Ability to travel (10%) to support contract transition activities when required.
  • Us citizen required
  • Secret clearance desired or ability to obtain a secret clearance

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field.
