Job Summary

Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products. Inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production. Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 6 years of related experience. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor.

Job Description

This position performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products. A person in this role inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production, using a CMM or other gage to provide essential data for key component processes. A person in this role records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.

  • Must understand and follow Safety Rules and Responsibilities.
  • Perform First Article Inspection
  • Demonstrate proper use of various measurement tools (including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, CMM, Optical CMM etc.)
  • Must able to identify in and out of specification parts to drawing specification.
  • Can program CMMs to be able to measure parts correctly to specifications.
  • Can edit program to ensure accurate operation of the CMM
  • Perform and retain layouts for gages and calibrations
  • Interface with Manufacturing and Engineering teams and provide technical voice to collaborations.
  • May be required to provide Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) or gauge use training to others.
  • Must be able demonstrate loading, configuring, and adjustment of probes on all CMMs.
  • Learn other quality roles on quality cross-training matrix.
  • Minimum high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Exceptional understanding of and prior experience with CMM.
  • Must be able to use Excel, Word, Aras and Outlook to maintain results and records.
  • Must demonstrate ability to read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing from prints. (GD&T)
  • Can read and interpret process and procedures.
  • Must possess above average troubleshooting skills

Must possess above average communication skills, both verbal and written
