JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for on-site supervision of numerous weekday/weekend athletics and rental activities. To oversee athletics facilities and be a liaison between the league and the Athletic Director.

Example of Duties

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist with night and weekend supervision of facilities.
  • Checking pre-assigned athletic activities, rental activities, and facilities for safety of patrons and facility care.
  • Check lights, locks, equipment and monitor concessions, traffic, and public needs.
  • Assist Athletic Director in the area of special events involving athletic sporting events.
  • Serve as a liaison to league officials, concerning facilities and sports programming.
  • Report daily to the Athletic Superintendent.
  • Continually walking around the facility checking all doors and gates to ensure security, observing equipment for defects, observing participants for misuse of equipment or inappropriate conduct.
  • Reporting and recording accidents, injuries, and emergency situations.
  • Execute opening and closing of facilities at posted times and check for safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Attend training sessions as needed.
  • Assist in the cleanliness of the fields, pick up trash and check the bathroons hourly for cleanliness, keeping fully stocked, and any issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service of all that enter the park facilities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to meet and work well with the general public.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with league officials, coaches, and the public.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a large number of people with a variety of requests.
  • Sports experience desirable (wide-ranging including basketball, tennis, softball, baseball, and football).
  • Knowledge of contractual agreements for facility users.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perceive problem situations with user groups and implement immediate solutions.
  • Knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices of the Parks and Recreation Department.
Supplemental Information

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work well with public officials and the public, in general, to solve problems and facilitate wholesome and safe league activities.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Moderate physical activity including but not limited to walking, lifting, stooping, and climbing. Some heavy lifting may be required,
