We are hiring a Jr. Level Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Developer that will be focused on the development of backend systems. You'll be responsible for technical design, development, unit testing, deployment, and support of technical solutions.
What You Will Be Doing:
- As a junior developer, you'll work closely with the team to ensure quality solutions are being provided through code reviews, and systems reviews. Key responsibilities and expectations include:
- Follow coding standards and looking for opportunities to improve code quality and system performance.
- Be an active member of a scrum team. You'll provide input on technical details, review/decompose/write story cards, participate in scrum events, and occasionally demo your work to stakeholders.
- Understand and maintain proper security controls.
- Help review and approve code completed by other developers.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Uphold Steelcase core values.
Your Future Team:
You will be part of the Digital Customer Experience organization, located in Steelcase's business center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The product team that you will be a part of is called Digital Customer Platforms and it consists of six IT professionals across three countries (USA, Mexico, France). You may also work with external consulting firms to round out the development team. We work with our business stakeholders to define user stories, design and architect solutions, and execute projects from beginning to end. Our work will primarily take place within one of the Adobe Experience Manager applications.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years of experience developing web hosted applications or military-equivalent experience
- Experience using SQL (or SOQL) for relational databases
- Proficient in working with: Java (or an equivalent object-oriented programming language like C#), and REST APIs
- Experience with developing within the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Suite of tools. With a focus on back-end development.
- Experience in using GIT source code
- Experience in unit and functional testing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and have experience working in team settings.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in Agile development Methodologies
- Experience with HTML, CSS , Javascript & React.
- Web frameworks (Bootstrap, JQuery, or similar)

The annual base salary range for this position is $76,000 - $121,700. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Steelcase considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
