The Opportunity

Our Power and Energy Solutions Accounting team is seeking a Senior Analyst to support our U.S. based natural gas and power Commercial Marketing teams. To be successful in this role, you will combine strong U.S. GAAP knowledge with a proven ability to build strong working relationships with our traders and commercial operational teams. In this role, communication, both written and verbal, is crucial. Please note that while this role is located in Houston, its leaders are located in our Calgary office.

What you'll do

• Coordinate and work with the U.S. Commercial Operations team ensuring accuracy of financial results.
• Monthly reporting including analysis of actual results against plan and forecast.
• Support quarterly reporting with analysis of financial results compared to prior year.
• Assist in the preparation of the Financial Instruments note in TC Energy's Consolidated Financial Statements.
• Provide support and coverage to Settlement Accountant when required.
• Analysis of new trade types from an accounting perspective.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
• 6+ years of relevant work experience
• Professional Accounting designation.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills working with teams outside of accounting.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• An independent worker who is comfortable working with leader support in Canada.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Energy Trading and Risk Management systems, preferably Endur.
• SAP-ECC and SAP-BPC system knowledge.
