Title: Security Officer Armed II
Location: Maury Regional Medical Center
Position Shift: Full TIme 6a to 6p
Position Summary:
Works independently in most situations and performs the following functions: protection of all persons and property on hospital premises, controls dangerous persons and shields other persons present from jeopardy to the best of their ability, patrols hospital buildings and grounds (internal and external) to prevent fire, theft and vandalism. Secures, unlocks, and protects hospital buildings. Responds to the security needs of hospital personnel.
Fulfills responsibilities to various hospital departments, patients, and visitors by providing a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities by patrolling the off-site buildings, the on-site buildings, and the grounds of the hospital. this includes any activities on other properties that are designated as hospital functions for the public in general.
Assists in the training of new hire Security Officers at the direction of the Director of Security. Completion of incident reports for documentation purposes, which requires basic computer skills.
Credentials / Education:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
* Security Armed Guard Certification by the Dept of Commerce and Ins with 90 days of hire Required
* Peace Officers Standards and Training certification if employed as a law enforcement officer Required
* 1 Year Security, Law Enforcement, Correction, or Investigative Experience Required
