Position Summary
Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Senior Analyst, Requirements to join the Corporate Information Security organization located in the US/Reston. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Requirements Analyst to join our growing security team. For this role, the individual will be expected to discover, define, analyze, and document requirements specifications for projects relating to automating IT processes developed by our security team. They will contribute to our ultimate goal of improving efficiency, accelerating threat response, and strengthening our overall security posture across the global Sony organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the Sony GSIRT Data & Development Team, the individual will be responsible for gathering, refining and documenting requirements from our stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of automation projects by our developers.

  • Discover, define, analyze, and document the requirements for projects related to automating IT processes developed by our cybersecurity teams.

  • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders including security analysts, team managers and project managers to understand their needs and challenges and translate them into business and functional requirements for our development team.

  • Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and automation.

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings to elicit and document detailed business requirements for automation playbooks on the SOAR platform.

  • Document requirements clearly and concisely from stakeholders and work together with development team to help translate them into development objectives.

  • Contribute to improving the efficiency, accelerating threat response, and strengthening our overall security posture across the global Sony organization.

  • Help the development team test and validate implementations to ensure they fulfill expected requirements by stakeholders.

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team to facilitate a shared understanding of requirements and priorities.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to make advancements to overall project lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience working as a requirements analyst for an IT company, preferably within the cybersecurity sector.

  • Minimum of 5+ years working as a software developer within a team following agile practices or comparable methodology is preferrable.

  • Strong experience working with external teams to elicit business and functional requirements based on the team's needs and challenges and being able to work closely with development team to develop project plan for implementation.

  • Able to infer business automation and general development needs from cybersecurity teams and translate them into business and function requirements as necessary.

  • Knowledge of Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) concepts a big plus.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, incident response methodologies, and overall security best practices a big plus.

  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.

  • Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.

  • Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and persuade customers, employees, and management at all levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.

  • Highly motivated and strong work ethic and commitment to accomplish assigned tasks.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $115,000 to $135,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
