Mott MacDonald is hiring a mid-senior CAD and/or BIM Stormwater/Drainage Designer in our Lakewood, CO and/or Tampa, FL offices. This person will work alongside other talented individuals to support project teams throughout North America on proposals, planning, design, startup, and delivery tasks. The project delivery support ensures the best tools and systems framework are configured and deployed based on project requirements and company goals for innovation.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers and the design team to advance and complete a variety of project types.
  • Develop water and wastewater infrastructure projects with a significant portion in plant environments.
  • Produce conceptual and final construction design plans for utilities, grading, and stormwater.
  • Produce preliminary and final drawings in accordance with company and client standards while advancing the use of 3D modeling along with project site grading surfacing within the design team.
  • Coordinate with complimentary disciplines at a project level which may include members of the structural, electrical, mechanical, roadway, and architectural team.
  • Produce project specifications in support of engineering design team.
  • Assist and coordinate with team members on construction activities such as shop drawing review.
  • Support design services during construction activities.
  • Produce spreadsheets that summarize quantities and estimated unit costs.

We invite applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a civil designer.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred
  • High school graduate, technical degree in BIM/CAD software strongly desired.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, REVIT BIM, MicroStation InRoads / GeoPAK, and OpenRoads Designer.
  • Experience in various infrastructure project types: Drainage, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Mechanical, etc.
  • Experience developing and supporting engineering drawings.
  • Experience with file conversion and file management between multiple digital environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and prioritize tasks in a logical order.
  • Assists junior engineers and professionals.
  • Opportunity to develop and mentor civil team of designers.
  • Strong verbal communication and time management skills.

In compliance with the Equal Pay Transparency Rules for Colorado, the expected salary range is from $85,000-$100,000.Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
